If you work directly with people in poverty, your voice is essential in shaping policies that affect them. The most practical and powerful place to start is in your own community.
You’re more than an advocate. You’re a subject matter expert who sees the challenges of poverty up close. When city leaders hear your informed perspective and see your sincere desire to solve real problems, they’re far more likely to view you as a trusted ally—not a critic or competitor.
Join us for our annual policy forum as we discuss proven strategies for influencing local policy at city hall. This event is for you if you’ve ever felt:
- Doubtful that your voice can shape local decisions
- Intimidated by the idea of engaging city leaders
- Unsure which city policies need your input
You’ll hear from Patrick Tuohey of the Better Cities Project, who equips engaged citizens to drive municipal policy change that protects work, housing, and educational opportunities, and more, for all.
This Network member-exclusive forum offers both presentation and open discussion—so come ready with your questions, insights, and a willingness to engage. The format is longer than our typical webinar at 90 minutes, and we will encourage “camera-on” discussion in the last half of the event. Together, we’ll explore how we can drive meaningful policy change in our own communities.
